ArcheAge

2014 has been a confusing year for me in games... I haven't really found "THE GAME" yet... Which is kinda sad, since I had my hopes up for The Elders Scrolls Online.. But since that was a downer for me, I have been stuck in Final Fantasy XIV - A realm reborn. And now I am starting to get slightly bored... After having been so busy IRL, I haven't felt the same vibe in either of the games I own. LOTRO, FFXIV, Sims 3, Age of Conan, etc.. I am finding myself in a weird spot where I dont know which way to go. I want something new and exciting and then I got a tip about this new game called ArcheAge!

When I heard the name at first, I was a bit sceptical, due to it also being an asian MMO, but then when I read into what the game was like I was blown away. ArcheAge ain't just a normal MMORPG, but it is a sandbox game, meaning players are allowed to do almost anything!
You can build your own house anywhere, trading/gathering is playerbased, you can build your ship, PVP, there is even a crime system if you steal of someone else goods! On top of that there are no bound classes, but you have the control of which skills and weapons you would like to use! So be your own master and be the character you have always wanted to be! The game has seriously every aspect all the other MMORPGs have been missing for the last 10-15 years!

ArcheAge is litteraly the MMORPG you have been waiting for! And the betas are supposed to go out next month in June 2014. The game has been out since last year in Korean and Japan, but they are translating the game ATM. Hopefully we will get this game sooner than I can hope for! At least I am very excited! And the best thing about ArcheAge is it is Free to Play!!!! Ofc there is a chance of having a subscription if you want some extra stuff, but how amazing is that anyway?
I am looking forward to trying it out and hopefully it will be all the waiting worth it!

FFXIV - Patch 2.2

Finally the day came where the Final Fantasy Patch 2.2 came out!
I am still all excited to try out all the new stuff! So far I have had a haircut and about to adventure a lot more later today !

The days before the patch launched, we finally got a house in my Free Company, and what better to wait by having a warm bath in the hot tub with the rest of the company!

The Sims 4

I blogged about the Sims 3 a while ago, and was all excited about the new Sims 4 coming out in February 2014, but now they have postponed the game until autumn this year. Whether it is a good thing or not, I am still having my hopes up for the game.
Due to all the changes and optimizations they have made to the game since it first came out 14 years ago :)

Male vs. Female character

It is one of the big questions everytime you launch up a new game. What to pick? Male or female character?
Some people tend to use the online games for being something they are not if I ain't mistaken? And this could be one of the reasons for so many males picking a female character, but that's just a guess of course.
Personally I tend to stick with the female characters, maybe because I feel like I can "be in the character" myself somehow, though the actual body, pointy ears, muscles, tail and height might be a bit off sometimes! I think I pick the female characters in the case of the game being a good Roleplaying game aswell, if the chance for getting some good Roleplaying going is there I am up for it! That way I am sure I am able to bring some life into my character by being female in real life aswell.

I have played MMORPG games for almost 7 years now and so far I haven't made one single male character... Maybe it is time to start looking into that path? Not sure but I am definitely never in a doubt when trying out a new game, female from start to finish!

I am playing a Priest of Mitra on the Crom server at the moment. If you see me running by, feel free to say hi! The pictures above are from some of my adventures in Hyboria. I still find the scenery quite beautiful and the characters shading ain't bad either, when thinking about the game is from 2008 it is still pretty decent in my point of view!

Do you Roleplay?

Lately I have been thinking of starting to Roleplay again, with Guild Wars 2 and the many worlds of Tyria with the possibilities for lots of fun just waiting to be taken into use.

I haven't been roleplaying for ages to be honest, since last time I gave it a go it ended up in a big misunderstanding. The guy I was roleplaying with ended up "believing" that everything he did/said to my character was towards me IRL. So of course that didn't go down well and I had to disappoint him with not marrying him IRL. One huge mess there! So ever since I have been taking my precautions!

Today I am just looking back at it all with a huge smile on my face and laughing about it, maybe you have tried something similar, and it ain't just me these things happen to?

But I am curious is Roleplaying still something people do, or is it totally back in the days with Pen and Paper?

LOTRO 5 year anniversary

I can't believe it's been 5 years since I started playing LOTRO, time flies so fast when you are having fun.
And this year Turbine made a celebration with Gift boxes for each year you have played, with outfits, steed, etc. inside.
The entire anniversary is celebrated throughout entire Middle Earth with a huge amount of fire works everywhere not to meantion all the beer!!

A lot of you people from LOTRO probably remember this event! A RP event in a PVP zone, really bad Idea some might say, but it was quite fun to be honest! Lots of people met up, and we ended up frying the servers for quite some people! Even people in small instances around middle earth was lagging like crazy!
